Its quite long since I did this trip. But its okay because
now on my willingness to write want to make me write everything. Its about 9
or ten months ago, me and my neighborhood went out one day just to explore
several place in Sumatera Barat, my hometown. It just unwell planned journey
because we plan to do that journey is last night before the day. Me, my sister
(hillery) and 6 of my friend (Putra, Aldo, Yogi, Dani, Hendri, Aisye) was the
people whose really boring at that day, so we decided to take one day off to
explore Sumbar.
Lets Start the Trip
In short time, at 8 am in the morning we left my home as the
meeting point. Actually the trip is on Lebaran holiday so as always the traffic
was come with us. The first stop at that time was Singkarak Lake. Who doesn’t
know Singkarak Lake. The largest Lake in West Sumatera. It’s about less than one hour from my home. Take
picture is the most important thing when I go travel.
Here we are at Singkarak Lake.
Then, the next destination is Bukit Tinggi. As we know,
Bukit Tinggi is one of famous city in West Sumatera for the tourist
destinataion. Not just a local tourist, even from the foreign country visit
that place. Whats make Bukit Tinggi become Famous? There are so many place that
you have to explore there. And also, the food as we one of West Sumatera food
(Rendang) becomes the most delicious food in the world. In Bukit Tinggi we
could find many local food there.
The first destination of that day was Jam Gadang. Jam Gadang
is an icon of Bukit Tinggi. It was build a long time ago. In that area we can
take a picture with the clowns. And also many people sell the merchandise and
traditional food out there.
Jam Gadang
After walking around, we decided to buy some clothes. There are
traditional market near jam gadang that sold clothes, fabric, and so on. Then,
as always we took so much picture.
One place that you shouldn’t miss if you go to Bukit Tinggi
is Japanese Cave. The cave is so creepy as hell. The story behind that, the
cave was built since West Sumatra was colonized by Japanese. The function of
that cave itself was for persecution, murder, and another bad thing happened
there. I can’t imagine how creepy it was.
To enter the cave we entered the gateway to some park that
called panorama. From panorama we can see Sianok canyon. It was amazing. Then
we can enter the cave and going down. It is about hundred stairs to reach the
lowest point of the cave. Then, we can explore the cave. There are several
lights to bright our way. We couldn’t take much picture there because it was
dark. The light was not really support for good picture. The cave is divided
into several rooms. There are rooms for kitchen, rooms for weapon, rooms for
jail, and rooms for persecution. In the cave, I could feel the different atmosphere.
Maybe it just because the air was so dank or maybe I could feel the suffering
of people who got their live end there. It was creepy as creepy as hell. It was
good to turn down the stairs but it was bad when I gotta back, I had to climb
hundred stairs to get back. It was tiring yet fun.

Then, after so much fun in Bukit Tinggi we decided to go to
the Beach at Kota Padang. It is about 2 hours from bukit tinggi to get there. Still
long way to go.
About 5 Pm we arrived at Air Manis Beach. Air Manis Beach is
also one of famous beach in Padang. Remember the legend of Malin Kundang? Yeah,
it is there. The beach that Malin Kundang was cursed become a stone. At that
time we didn’t go to see the stone. We just played around the beach. Near the
beach there is one island called Pisang Island that we can walk across the sea. It is about 500
meters from the beach. Because of the waves is not really bad so we could reach
there by walking. After explored the island by taking picture we go back to the
beach waiting for sunset.

Here is some picture of sunset that we got there.
Sweet Awwww
I never satisfied enough to Explore my hometown, because
there are so many place worth to visit. And someday I will travel around West
Sumatra to see every inch of my home land.
